AUGUSTO EGOAVIL

Augusto  practices in the field of federal taxation.  His experience includes tax services for non-resident alien individuals and foreign global companies doing business in the United States and domestic global companies conducting cross-border business outside the United States. He represents clients in reporting offshore investments under the FATCA rules and the reporting guidelines applicable to U.S. persons.

Augusto specializes in setting up domestic, international sales corporations and business structures for global companies doing business in Latin America and determining the tax jurisdiction where the entities are to be located and structuring the vehicles to repatriate profits.

Prior to joining Velegal Pllc, Augusto was a partner at an international, middle-market law firm, where he was the Director of the LATAM Group.  Before that he was a partner and legal director in Ernst & Young.


Publications:

  • Updating of the 1992 publication of the Doing Business in Venezuela by Ernst & Young. In this respect, the publication was both updated and expanded to include detailed information on tax law, business law and corporate finance. The booklet was published in March 2000.
  • Updating of the Venezuelan section of the various tax publications of Ernst & Young, including the Global Incentive Compensation Reporter. The reporter is an internet service that allows authorized subscribers to be updated generally about employee incentive compensation plans
